This December, big changes are happening in the Rittenhouse area of Philadelphia! The former Crow and the Pitcher restaurant and bar has re-opened, after months of reestablishing itself after the departure of their executive chef, as Baril!
Michael Franco — owner and operator of Crow and the Pitcher is looking to focus the cuisine at Baril to skew more toward that of the south of France and have a Mediterranean influence. Dishes on the new menu will have fresh ingredients and bright flavors as opposed to heavy sauces with a lot of butter.
The restaurant will become a fully French restaurant within six-months of reopening and the menu will be 95% complete come summer. This summer menu will showcase the food that will be found on the restaurant’s future complete menu.
Former Sous Chef, Gregory Headen, who starting leading the kitchen as Executive Chef after the departure of Alex Capasso, planned the new menu under the guidance of Chef Georges Perrier to make it with simpler and lighter bistro fare.
The new menu includes ratatouille, braised garden snails, and braised rabbit. Check out the full menu HERE!
